WILL LATHROP VISITS ALL 36 OREGON COUNTIES IN OREGON AG RACE
September 25, 2024
Portland, Ore. – Last week, Will Lathrop spoke with voters in Malheur County, marking his 36th Oregon county visit this election cycle - every county in the State of Oregon.
“Being an Attorney General for ALL Oregonians means taking the time to meet with voters and go to every corner of our state to learn about their concerns. I have had the honor to meet with Oregonians at parks, local diners, in their living rooms, and at neighborhood association meetings,” said Will Lathrop.
“As Attorney General, I will work collaboratively with local leaders and law enforcement to protect children from abuse, combat drug trafficking and crime, and curb public corruption in Oregon. We can’t keep electing the same politicians and expect different results. I am confident that together, we can fix this,” said Lathrop.
In addition to campaigning in all 36 counties in Oregon, Will has met with voters and spoken at over 200 campaign events across our state, and earned key endorsements from County Commissioners.
What County Leaders Say About Will Lathrop:
“Portland and our surrounding communities are overwhelmed by the influx of drugs pouring into our state. We need an Attorney General with the law enforcement experience necessary to tackle this crisis on day one. Oregon would be well-served with Will Lathrop at the helm of the Department of Justice,” said Clackamas County Commissioner, Ben West.
“Child abuse and online exploitation tips are occurring in our state at an unprecedented rate. A topic clearly not of priority to Oregon's current leadership, who woefully underfunds and under prioritizes prosecution of these horrific crimes. Will Lathrop has dedicated his entire career to protecting children from exploitation - including here in Marion County where he served as a child sex abuse prosecutor. Will is the leader I trust to keep our children safe. He is the expert in his field,” said Marion County Commissioner, Danielle Bethell.
“Will Lathrop would be a strong chief law enforcement officer and an effective voice for an all-hands-on-deck approach to public safety. He will bring leaders together, just as he did recently at his Lane County roundtable,” said Lane County Commissioner, David Loveall.
“It is no secret Oregon is at a crossroads. Drugs are readily accessible on our streets, DHS is failing to protect our kids, and our state agencies repeatedly spend taxpayer dollars without proper accounting. It has never been more important to have an Attorney General of Will Lathrop’s caliber with state, local, and international law enforcement experience,” said Deschutes County Commissioner, Patti Adair.
“Salem politicians have created a devastating environment for businesses - particularly in rural Oregon. We need an Attorney General who will ensure our state agencies are not reaching beyond their legislative authority. Will Lathrop is the only candidate in this race with experience enforcing the law. He is exactly what Oregon needs,” said Coos County Commissioner, John Sweet.
“Will has put in the work to visit every corner of our state. This summer he visited the Columbia County Fair and he took the time to interact with our Sheriff's Department and the local community. Oregon needs a real public servant as our Attorney General. Oregon needs Will Lathrop,” said Columbia County Commissioner, Margaret Magruder.
“Southern Oregon is no exception to Oregon’s drug trafficking crisis. The DOJ must take on the highly sophisticated, criminal operations that have planted their roots in our state. Will Lathrop is the only candidate with the expertise to do just that. The choice has never been clearer,” said Douglas County Commissioner, Tim Freeman.
"I am in support of Will because he is a strong advocate for the people of Oregon, not a representative of a political party or political agenda. We need elected officials who will protect the rights of the people of Oregon, ensure law enforcement has the tools necessary to protect its citizens, and protect the rule of law and the U.S. Constitution,” said Clatsop County Commissioner, John Toyooka.
“Will Lathrop is a man of integrity. He appreciates the work Oregon’s farmers and ranchers do on a daily basis and he understands the complexities in every corner of our state. Wallowa County is proud to call him one of our own,” said Wallowa County Commissioner, Todd Nash.
